Acupuncture

Galit Cohen
Acupuncture is form of traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for centuries. It is based on the theory that energy, Chi, flows through our bodies in pathways called meridians.
When the energy or the Chi is blocked, illness and pain occur. Acupuncture is a way to unblock or influence the Chi - it can help the Chi to flow and therefore aid the healing process.
Japanese Acupuncture

Chinese medicine arrived in Japan through Korea in the 6th century and has been practiced there for over 14 centuries. Both herbal medicine and acupuncture have undergone some unique developments that distinguish traditional Japanese medicine from its Chinese or Korean counterparts.

The acupuncture practiced in Japan today is a product of the strong influence of Western medicine starting in the 18th century. The dominant form of acupuncture practiced in Japan today is based more on the scientific model than traditional concepts.

Great importance is placed on palpation as it is used to locate sensitive areas that represent structural imbalance and inner organs issues and uses distal points to eliminate this sensitivity.

Japanese acupuncture uses a thinner needle and a shallower insertion. It is helpful for all types of pain, fertility issues, menstrual problems, digestive issue, stress, headache, can be a great support through pregnancy.
