Chinese Herbal Medicine Hong Kong

Chinese herbal medicine is a popular method of treatment in Hong Kong. In the local culture, Chinese herbs are used not only for the boiling of traditional medicines, but mild Chinese herbs are also incorporated into chilled convenience store drinks, herbal lotions and shampoo products.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, practitioners assess the patient’s health problems by checking their pulse and constitution, and ask for their detailed medical history. Afterwards, practitioners write medical herbal prescriptions and dispense herbs for the patients.

Chinese herbal medicine can be used for:

  • Cough, Nasal allergies, Asthma, Congestion, Headache

  • Indigestion, Constipation, Diarrhea, IBS

  • Skin eczema, rash, acne, skin allergies

  • Menstrual problems, Menopausal hormonal imbalance

After your consultation with our Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner, our clinic will arrange for your prescribed herbal medicine to be delivered directly to your home address, or for pick-up at the clinic. The herbs can be delivered in:

  • Pre-boiled liquid packets

  • Raw herbs for you to boil yourself at home

  • Herbal powder for convenience while travelling

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a Traditional Chinese Medicine Therapy, which consists of burning mugwort leaves  (Traditional Chinese herb) on particular acupressure points on the body. This therapy has been used in China, Tibet, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and Mongolia since several thousand years ago. It is often used in combination with acupuncture, or it can also be used just on its own.

The effect of moxibustion is to warm specific body regions, and acupressure meridians, to stimulate circulation for a smoother flow of blood and Qi. Moxibustion removes coldness and dampness from the body, and uplift drooping body areas by giving it a strong boost.

Our clinic is suited for providing moxibustion treatment, because we have spacious private rooms with strong air ventilation and open windows to ensure fresh air flow.

Moxibustion can be used to treat:

  • Muscular tightness and constriction

  • Cold and stiff arthritis bone joints

  • Prolapsed uterus and rectum caused by weakness

  • Menstrual pain and Infertility caused by coldness

  • Stomach pain and digestive issues caused by coldness

  • Turning breech position babies
