This month, we're focusing on a "SEPTEMBER RESET" edition,
guiding you through 4 essential areas
to ensure you thrive as you settle back into work, school and daily life.
BOOST YOUR IMMUNITY NATURALLY
As seasons change and we return to busier indoor environments, boosting your immune system becomes crucial.

Incorporate immune-boosting foods like ginger, garlic, citrus fruits, and leafy greens into your diet. Consider warming teas like ginger tea, especially useful as Hong Kong's humidity starts to shift.
Limit overly spicy or fried foods that can exacerbate dryness. Take adequate amounts of Vit B/C/D, Zinc and Probiotics.
Ensure adequate sleep (7-9 hours for adults). A well-rested body is better equipped to fight off illness.
MINDFUL MOVEMENT & POSTURE CHECK
With children back to school and work schedules picking up, we probably have increased our sitting times. September is ideal for re-evaluating and re-establish your movement habits!

Incorporate short stretching breaks every hour, especially if you have a desk job. Focus on your neck, shoulders and lower back.
Invest in ergonomic support if needed – a good chair, proper monitor height, or a stand-up desk can make a huge difference.
Check your child's backpack for proper fit and weight. Allow max 10% of the child's weight! Encourage active play to offset sitting time.
Remember that good posture and movement are essential for avoiding muscular aches and joint discomfort.
HYDRATION HERO: BEAT THE HEAT & HUMIDITY
Even as temperatures might dip slightly in Hong Kong, staying adequately hydrated remains crucial, especially with indoor air conditioning and active lifestyles.

Water First: Start your day with a large glass of water, preferably warm temperature with a squeeze of lemon. Do this first thing in the morning, before other drinks or foods.
Carry a Bottle: Keep a reusable water bottle of at least 1 litre handy throughout the day to sip consistently.
Infuse It: Add slices of lemon, cucumber or mint to make water more appealing and change it up a bit.
Limit Dehydrators: Reduce intake of caffeine, sugary drinks and alcohol.
MINDFUL DE-STRESSING & DIGITAL DETOX
The end of summer and the onset of new routines - whether school or work - can bring increased stress. Dedicate time to truly unwind.

Practice mindfulness or meditation for 10-15 minutes daily. Even a short session can significantly reduce stress.
Breathe! Too many of us take breathing for granted... Try the simple "4 in / 6 out" technique for a few times a day. You will find you're more calm and resilient to daily challenges.
Implement a digital detox for at least an hour before bed. The blue light from screens can disrupt sleep. Read a book, listen to music or take a warm bath instead.
Explore the HK local parks and hills or take a ferry to an outer island for a tranquil escape from the urban hustle.
